Notebooks with traditional patternsA notebook is a perfect tool for generating ideas or reaching for an inspiration. Moreover, it can become a perfect Christmas gift for friends or simply to oneself. A notebook turns out to be even more special when handmade and decorated with symbols used by ancestors. Thus, You are kindly invited to come and make something very unique!

The participants of the workshop will have an opportunity to make their very own notebooks and paint the covers with traditional patterns in their own way. Ones will not only get to know with symbols, which are characteristic to Lithuanian ancestors, but will discuss the similarities between Lithuanian symbols and those, inherent to other nations.

All the needed materials and tools are to be provided, the only things to bring are some ideas and good mood. If You have any favourite piece of paper or painting tool, You can definitely take them to the workshop.

The workshop is to be given by the artist and designer Liucija Dervinytė, one of the founders of the creative space Ideas Block, the creator of items by Liucija Textiles and IdeaCycle.

ETNO Thursdays are different workshops designed to motivate people to discover traditional culture and to explore its variety.

ETNO Thursdays gather together people of different age and coming from different professional backgrounds. It is an opportunity to always learn something new: to sing a folk song, to knit a pair of traditional wrist warmers, to weave a waistband, to make straw decorations for Christmas or other occasions, to decorate Easter eggs with wax and a lot more!

The workshops are suitable for everyone as they are being organized in the evening, after work. Thus, take your opportunity to dive into ethnic culture and explorations with ETNO Thursdays!
