Tablet weaving, also known as card weaving, is a method of producing narrow textiles such as straps, belts and trim. Tablet weaving is old and traditional way of weaving which requires carefulness and patience. This handicraft contains variety of colours and patterns.

During the workshop on 17th of January You will be learning how to read card weaving patterns, thread the cards and turn them to weave. Everyone will make their own handmade waistband and use it to decorate clothes. All the needed materials are included, yet You could also bring your own thread of favourite colours.

The event is suitable for beginners.

ETNO Thursdays are different workshops designed to motivate people to discover traditional culture and to explore its variety. ETNO Thursdays gather together people of different age and coming from different professional backgrounds. It is an opportunity to always learn something new: to sing a folk song, to knit a pair of traditional wrist warmers, to weave a waistband, to make straw decorations for Christmas or other occasions, to decorate Easter eggs with wax and a lot more!
