Visa Lietuva šoka 2020

Visa Lietuva šokaThis year, for the sixth time, the annual campaign "Visa Lietuva šoka" will take place, inviting people to gather in various places in Lithuania and join the movement of traditional dances.

One of the main goals of this event, initiated by the Lithuanian National Cultural Center, is to make folk dances not only visible on the stages, but also knowable, accepted, and beloved activity for everyone. The participants of this event are not only enthusiasts of traditional dances, folklore ensembles, members of dance clubs, but also spectators, passers-by, and the audience who encountered traditional dances for the first time.

Many institutions, communities, and individual people in various cities and towns of the country contribute to the implementation of this idea. In this way, it is expected that traditional dances, which are becoming more and more popular, will be available to anyone who wants to get to know Lithuanian choreographic folklore or just have a good time listening to folk music

This year, the initiators of the campaign, in addition to other folk dances, prompt participants from all over Lithuania to learn one common dance - krakoviakas.

For those who want to get acquainted with some Lithuanian folk dances before the event, the Lithuanian National Cultural Center has prepared a playlist with examples of dances from different regions.

The event "Visa Lietuva šoka" will take place on September 18 at 6 p. m. at Vincas Kudirka Square and will join the Fair of Nations happening in Vilnius at the same time. The participants of the event will be taught to dance by the Traditional Dance Club.

Attention! Registration is required to participate in the event.

During the event, please observe the safety requirements: wear a mask covering the nose and mouth, as well as protective gloves, and do not participate in the event in case of any symptoms of the disease.
